SITUATION

TelCentris, a new type of telephony company based in San Diego, approached JHG to help launch a brand new consumer service called VoxOx. Referenced by some as "Skype on Steroids," VoxOx centralizes today's key communication channels - voice, video, Instant Messaging (IM), text, social media, e-mail, and content sharing - within one user interface, serving as a multi-protocol IM with telephony features, social networking aggregation capabilities, and much more.

RESULTS

JHG first assisted TelCentris in refining VoxOx positioning and developed press kit materials from scratch for the new service. Then JHG crafted an integrated approach for the launch, leveraging strategic traditional media/analyst relations along with a social media campaign. This included a major bi-coastal press and analyst tour which yielded meetings with major U.S. dailies and weeklies including WSJ, USA Today and Newsweek, among others. Despite challenges related to launching an unknown brand, the launch was a resounding success-VoxOx PR efforts garnered 50+ articles and reviews, three dozen press interviews and meetings, and 50,000+ consumer downloads and far exceeded the company's objectives. All results were accomplished through JHG's public relations program, with zero dollars spent on advertising. JHG also assisted in creating a robust social media program for Voxox, providing strategic recommendations on the company's blog, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
