Public Relations Specialist
As an entry-level position, the Public Relations Specialist acts as a key support for multiple teams and projects. PR Account Specialist will report directly to the Account Executive on each account and will primarily be focused on developing the tools and knowledge necessary for managing an account.

Primary Responsibilties:

Account Services Roles
  • Primarily assist the Account Services Director/Manager/Executive in supporting active accounts.
  • Help Account Services Director/Manager/Executive clearly define and ensure that scope of work is communicated clearly to all parties within JHG.
  • Research: build and maintain lists in the press database, editorial calendars, speaking and award opportunities for clients and JHG-Townsend
  • Client support: Coordinate and provide client deliverables, assemble press kit materials, briefing books and other collateral
  • Assist in managing the relationship between the client, business development and JHG•Townsend senior management.
  • Writing: learn basic PR writing through emails and correspondence and begin writing pitches, press releases, speaking and award submissions, and other client and/or JHG-Townsend communications.
  • Monitor and ensure overall project quality control.
  • Ensure the follow-through of all action items related to a particular project to make sure that all deliverables are completed on schedule. Also assist in ensuring that each discipline is delivering on time and on budget.
  • Become proficient in the types of projects JHG performs.
  • Become proficient in basic capabilities of each JHG service offerings including online, mobile, PR, and sports marketing.
  • Support account services team in their absence.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree required: two-three PR or relevant Internship experience preferable,
  • Internet research skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledgeable about PR strategies – publications, editors, analysis and tradeshows
  • Knowledgeable in new digital PR and implementation in the current client programs both online and offline
  • Experience in any or all of the following project types preferred:
    • Creative (design, print, motion media)
    • Technology (web/interactive)
    • Sports
