Public Relations Senior Account Executive
At JHG Townsend Inc we are always looking for the absolute best account professionals at various experience levels. We are currently seeking a Senior Account Executive. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years public relations experience in an agency or client environment/ and/or as a reporter in a major newspaper, plus outstanding communications and writing skills. You will lead and participate in multiple accounts by working alongside the Director or Vice President to develop strategies and execute on tactics to meet client objectives.

We need your help to bring their business stories to life with strategic public relations and marketing communications programs. You’ll work with our clients and alongside other talented JHG Townsend professionals to understand their opportunities and challenges and then implement strategies and tactics to build their business. You’ll also have an opportunity to attract, develop, and retain top talent for your team.

Primary Responsibilties:
  • Develop and execute on public relations programs and plans
  • Represent clients at relevant industry trade shows, analyst/press tours and speaking engagements
  • Act as a liaison on account activities
  • Develop strategic media, analyst and social media relations programs, pitch creative stories and secure coverage, incorporating clients’ key messages
  • Write and edit news releases, corporate and product backgrounders, contributed articles, corporate strategy news releases, and complex client communications
  • Manage day-to-day account responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in a related field
  • Must have 5-8 years of PR experience preferable with some of it in an agency setting
  • Client experience in one or all of the following: technology, education and consumer goods
  • Knowledgeable about traditional media relations and PR strategies – PR plans development, publications, editors, industry analysts and tradeshows
  • Understanding of new digital PR strategies and implementation in the current client programs both online and offline
