JHG-Townsend Selected as Gold Winner in 2008 Hermes Creative Awards and American Business Award Finalist in Two Categories

Leading Digital Marketing and PR Agency Recognized for Innovative Ad Campaign and Outstanding Executive Leadership and PR Services

SAN DIEGO – May 28, 2008 - JHG-Townsend, an interactive, marketing and public relations agency that helps companies in sports and entertainment, technology, lifestyle and wellness use new techniques to engage audiences and drive results, has been named a gold winner in the 2008 Hermes Creative Awards and a finalist in two award categories for the 2008 American Business Awards, The Stevies®. JHG-Townsend received the Hermes Creative Awards gold winner recognition in the advertising campaign category for its 2007 Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) campaign, and finalist recognition for two Stevie Award categories: Best PR Agency and Best PR Executive. Liya Sharif, VP of Public Relations & Branding Strategy at JHG-Townsend, is a finalist competing in the Best PR Executive category.

"To be recognized for our client work in PR and advertising by such esteemed organizations like the Stevies and the Hermes Creative Awards is a tremendous achievement and honor for our company and its employees," said Jayne Hancock, chief executive officer of JHG-Townsend. "We are also extremely proud of Liya for achieving finalist status in the Best PR Executive category. Liya and her team are committed to delivering outstanding public relations and creative campaigns that bring our clients the results they deserve."

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. The award received more than 4,000 entries worldwide and is judged by the international organization the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The JHG-Townsend ad campaign, created on behalf of TAEC, is part of a 14-month long program that consisted of the integrated development of TAEC’s brand messages in the U.S. market and launching print and online advertising campaigns across multiple divisions.

Stevie finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging held from April through early May. "ABA entries grew more than 30 percent this year, so being named a finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. "It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition. We congratulate JHG-Townsend on their achievement as finalists in both Best PR Agency and Best PR Executive categories."

"Jayne and I are extremely passionate about empowering our clients to build successful and innovative marketing and publication relations programs that are effective in today’s digital world," said Jackie Townsend, executive vice president of JHG-Townsend. "We’re very grateful to receive these three award recognitions and will continue to focus and raise the bar internally so that our clients will continue to reap the benefits of the impressive results we deliver."

Hailed as "the business world’s version of the Oscars," The American Business Awards, The Stevies, are the only national all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. Finalists were selected by business professionals nationwide during more than five weeks of preliminary judging and this year more than 2,600 entries were submitted in more than 40 categories.
