JHG-Townsend CEO Jayne Hancock to Moderate Panel on the Importance of Branding at Annual National Sports Forum

JHG-Townsend, a results-driven communications group that effectively combines traditional marketing and PR services with new digital media, today announced that Jayne Hancock, JHG-Townsend’s chief executive officer, will moderate a panel titled, "Branding: A Contact Sport" at the National Sports Forum held in Memphis, Tennessee. Hancock is the former vice president of consumer marketing at DIRECTV where she was responsible for more than $5 billion annual revenue and was instrumental in the development of the NFL Sunday Ticket – the premier sports broadcast package. She has more than 20 years of experience in media, marketing and entertainment.

The panel will address the importance of successful branding in today’s business world and the basics of building, valuing and protecting a company brand in order to be more effective in the marketplace. The panel will also discuss the typical branding mistakes that all enterprises should avoid. Hancock will moderate the panel that includes: Michael Doherty, principal of Sherpa Resources LLC and former general manager of communications of Heinz North America; Kevin Rochlitz, vice president of sales and national partnerships for the Baltimore Ravens; and Haynes Hendrickson, senior vice president of Turnkey Sports & Entertainment. Doherty, Rochlitz and Hendrickson will share their experiences in generating and reinforcing brand emotion and creating brand properties that have longevity in the market.
